Toyota Star Maker celebrates its 40th anniversary in 2019 with a proud record of giving a host of country music idols, like Lee Kernaghan and The McClymonts, their big break. Toyota Star Maker is dedicated to boosting the profile of a young performer who is making an impression in the country music scene by awarding them a wealth of great prizes.
While Star Maker has evolved since its start in 1979, its focus remains the same: to support and showcase the best of Australia’s young country artists. It’s a tradition Toyota is incredibly proud of.
The Toyota Golden Guitar Awards recognise, celebrate and honour outstanding achievement in Australian country music. Commencing in 1973, the Awards are the nation’s longest running music awards and play a vital role in developing and promoting Australian country music talent.
The Toyota LandCruiser Country Music Busking Championships is one of the most anticipated aspects of the Festival each year. Up to 400 buskers perform on Tamworth’s “Boulevard of Dreams” in Peel Street in the hope that they’ll be spotted for their talent and follow in the footsteps of some of country music’s biggest stars.
