Motion Sensor Keys

Most newer Toyota vehicles feature a motion-sensor smart key that automatically enters a battery-saving mode when left stationary, such as at home. When inactive, the key is designed to temporarily stop communicating with the vehicle until it detects movement again, helping reduce the risk of certain types of vehicle theft.

Some older Toyota vehicles also include a manual Battery Saving Function, allowing owners to disable the smart entry key signal when the vehicle is parked, providing an additional layer of security.

Please refer to your Owner's Manual under ‘Battery-Saving Function’ for more information. Availability varies by model and specification.

Secondary Immobiliser

The Toyota Genuine Secondary ImmobiliserP26 is a dealership-fitted accessory designed to enhance vehicle security and improve vehicle theft deterrence.

The Secondary Immobiliser is designed to act as a multi-factor authentication system that works seamlessly alongside your vehicle's security.

Dual-Key Authentication: Under normal operation, to start the engine, you must have both your standard Vehicle Smart Entry Key and the Secondary Immobiliser Fob in range of the front cabin area.

Visual Indicator: Once installed, the only visible change is a small LED light on the right-hand side of your steering column. This is designed such that when this LED is flashing, the system is armed.

Automatic Arming: The system is designed to automatically arm approximately one minute after the vehicle is switched off or enters Accessory Mode.

Independent Siren: The system features its own independent siren and is designed to ensure it remains active even if the vehicle's main power supply is interrupted.

Remote Start (Toyota Connected Services feature): Please note that the Secondary Immobiliser remains armed when Remote Start is requested via the myToyota app (if available on the vehicle modelCS35). The Vehicle Smart Key and the Immobiliser Fob must be present and in range of the front cabin area when entering the vehicle.

Supplied with a fixed set of two Immobiliser fobs. Replacement Immobiliser fobs are not available. If the Immobiliser fobs are lost, a partial secondary immobiliser system will need to be professionally fitted at a Toyota dealership at owner's expense.

Secure your vehicle with our Toyota Genuine Steering Wheel Lock. Designed to act as both a highly visible warning and a physical barrier, this lock is for everyday peace of mind.

Supplied with a fixed set of keys. Replacement keys are not available. If keys are lost, lock may require professional removal at owner's expense. Please store keys securely.

What is a secondary immobiliser?
A secondary immobiliser is an additional engine immobiliser system installed alongside the factory (primary) immobiliser that is designed to prevent unauthorised vehicle start. Under normal operation, the engine will not start unless the secondary immobiliser is disarmed.
How does a secondary immobiliser work?

It adds a separate, independent engine start authentication process. Secondary or aftermarket immobilisers are generally designed so that:

  • The vehicle will power on, but the engine start is electronically blocked.
  • Authorisation must occur through the secondary immobiliser, via a separate immobiliser fob. This is intended to create a multi-layer immobilisation system.
