Toyota introduces Apple Carplay®/Android Auto™ on select vehicles

Toyota has upgraded its multimedia systems, with select models receiving compatibility and eligible vehicles able to upgrade to the new technology.

Toyota will upgrade its multimedia system on select models to provide Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ compatibility from 1 October. (All images indicative only).

Toyota Australia Vice President Sales and Marketing, Sean Hanley said the availability of Apple CarPlay®¹ and Android Auto™² will offer customers the ability to access a number of apps on their mobile devices in a safe and convenient way.

Existing owners of the all-new HiAce and RAV4 models will be able to upgrade their multimedia systems with Apple CarPlay®¹ and Android Auto™² free of charge from 1 November.

Owners of latest generation Camry, Corolla hatch, and recently upgraded Prius will also be able to upgrade their multimedia system with the new technology at their local Toyota dealership for $199 from 1 November as well.

Toyota's upgraded multimedia system with Apple CarPlay®¹ and Android Auto™² will also be standard on the all-new Corolla sedan and upgraded C-HR that are due on sale in Australia before the end of the year.

Multiple Toyota models will have Apple CarPlay®¹ and Android Auto™² fitted as standard as the models are updated. See below for an applicability table:
