All new vehicles purchased after 1 January 2019 (exc. commercial use) are backed by a five-year/unlimited kilometre warranty, with Toyota Warranty Advantage offering a range of additional coverage benefits.
For your standard 12-volt battery
Your standard 12-volt battery is covered for two years with unlimited kilometres for added peace of mind.
For all Toyota Genuine Parts and Accessories
Up to five years/unlimited kilometres cover on all Toyota Genuine Parts and AccessoriesT3.
For battery energy storage
Eight years/160,000kms (whichever comes first) if battery energy storage capacity falls below 70% of original capacityW21W22.
Two extra years of Driveline and Engine Protection
Keep up with logbook servicing at Toyota and your Engine and Driveline warranty extends to seven years from delivery. Conditions apply.
Up to seven years of Toyota Emergency Assistance
We’ll help cover car hire or towing costs if neededW18, with Toyota Emergency Assistance extending from five to seven years when serviced by Toyota. Conditions apply.

Additional battery warranties

Alongside the standard new Toyota warranty, your Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) includes traction battery cover for five years, extendable by a further five years with an annual battery health check at your Toyota DealerW22.

It also comes with a separate traction battery warranty of up to eight years or 160,000km (whichever comes first)W14. Conditions apply.

Up to 10 years of HEV, PHEV, BEV and 48V traction battery cover

Complete an annual battery health check and routine logbook servicing at ToyotaW14 and your traction battery coverage can be extended to 10 years. This includes the standard five-year unlimited kilometre Toyota Warranty Advantage period, extended annually for a further five years with each successful battery health check.

Eight years of BEV traction battery capacity cover

This battery warranty applies only to Battery Electric Vehicles (Toyota bZ4X and bZ4X Touring). For up to eight years or 160,000km (whichever comes first), your traction battery will be repaired or replaced if capacity drops below 70%, provided regular health checks are completed to Toyota specifications and the vehicle is operated, charged and maintained in line with the Owner’s Manual.

Frequently asked questions

If I change vehicles, can I transfer my warranty to my new vehicle?

No, your warranty stays with your car. This also means that if your car ownership is transferred to a new owner, that owner is covered by whatever time’s left on the warranty.

How do I check if my warranty is still valid?

You'l find this information in your Warranty and Service Handbooks, which should be in the glove box of your Toyota at the time of purchase. If these books were missing at the time or are lost, you'll need to contact the dealership you purchased the vehicle from.

Does Toyota offer an extended warranty?

Yes, we offer extended warranty coverage specifically for:

  • Engine, Electric Motor and Driveline (Hybrid Electric, 48V and Battery Electric systems), excluding Traction Battery, for five years/unlimited kms, with 2+ years extended coverage if your vehicle is properly serviced and maintained as per vehicle Warranty and Service BookTS4.
  • Traction Battery (Hybrid Electric, 48V and Battery Electric Vehicles except EV Traction Battery Capacity Degradation), for five years/unlimited kms, with up to five years/unlimited kms, subject to annual Traction Battery Health Check5A.

Why are some Toyota vehicles only covered for three years of the Toyota Warranty Advantage, not five?

The five-year warranty period only applies to vehicles purchased on or after 1 January 2019. Vehicles purchased before this date will still have the three-year/100,000km warranty period.

What is the cost of a replacement battery for the Toyota bZ4X?

With the Toyota Warranty Advantage, your Toyota bZ4X's battery is covered for years of driving confidence — and by following the advised maintenance program, the likelihood of ever needing to fund a replacement yourself is greatly reduced. If you do not maintain your vehicle correctly and you require a replacement battery, it's advisable to contact your local Toyota Dealer or authorised Toyota Service Center. They can provide detailed information based on your vehicle's specifics and any applicable warranties.

How does the Toyota Warranty Advantage apply to the Toyota bZ4X5C?

The all-electric Toyota bZ4X is covered by the Toyota Warranty Advantage. This includes the Five-year Unlimited Kilometre Warranty (which covers the entire vehicle, including the electric motor and drivetrain - excluding tractional battery capacity degradation issues), and up to 8 years of traction battery degradation cover. If the vehicle is properly serviced and maintained per its warranty and service book, your engine and driveline warranty may be extended from five to seven years (excludes commercial vehicles). You may also be eligible for up to seven years of emergency assistance.
