When you’re zipping about town, Prius c also helps keep you safe, with a sophisticated passive safety system – including seven SRS Air Bags and a front and side collision structure – as well as active safety features like Vehicle Stability Control , Traction Control , Anti-skid Braking System, Brake Assist [B4], Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, and more.
Prius c has been designed with a Minimum Intrusion Cabin System, where particular parts of the car’s chassis and structure absorb and disperse impact energy during an accident –helping to keep driver and passengers safe in the cabin.
Even people not in the car have been considered. The front of the car has been designed to minimise the effect of any impact on pedestrians. Prius c aims to help keep everybody safe.
Standard across the Prius c range, Anti-skid Braking System(ABS) automatically optimises braking performance by managing the individual brake force to each wheel so the wheels with the most grip do the most work helping you stop quickly and safely.
Prius c comes with Traction Control (TRC) and Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) . These work together to help reduce wheel spin, dampen understeer or oversteer and help the driver stay in control in difficult situations.
Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) is a sophisticated electronic system which works out how weight is distributed in the vehicle and adjusts the front to back brake force accordingly. Brake Assist (BA)[B4] interprets a sudden, hard push on the brake pedal as an emergency and adds brake force if necessary to stop the car in the shortest distance possible.
