The Western Chances/Toyota partnership is designed to remove financial barriers to STEM and other studies for talented young people in Melbourne’s west through the provision of merit-based scholarships.
The scholarships are tailored to individual needs for essential items such as textbooks, tuition fees and travel cards.
Two scholarship types are available: New Scholarships and Renewal Scholarships. Renewal scholarships are available if a students’ needs and eligibility continues. This is intended to ensure long term impact for both individuals and the wider community.
Toyota’s commitment to award approximately 85 scholarships recognises the need in Melbourne’s west for young people to complete their education and fulfil their potential.
The Toyota Production System Support Centre (TSSC) team will work with Western Chances to standardise and streamline its scholarship assessment process which will provide greater benefits to our young people.
Western Chances provides financial assistance and ongoing support to talented young people in Melbourne’s west whose circumstances prevent them from fulfilling their potential.
As well as scholarships, Western Chances provides programs and networks to recognise, nurture and celebrate young talent in Melbourne’s west.
