Toyota builds three models - Camry, Camry Hybrid and Aurion - in Australia. The fully integrated Altona manufacturing plant incorporates state-of-the-art weld, paint and assembly shops to produce cars that have been independently recognised as Australia's best quality locally built vehicles.
Toyota Australia manufactured 93,617 vehicles and 54,206 engines at the Altona plant in 2011.
Guided plant tours will be available at our Manufacturing Plant in Altona from mid May 2012.
Please refer to the information below to arrange for a plant tour.
Tours are run on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 9:00am to 11:00am & 12:30pm to 2:30pm.
There is a maximum of 18 people per tour and any students attending need to be 16 years and over.
There is no cost involved.

Engine Plant Renewal Project
In September 2010 Toyota Australia announced that it would begin manufacturing more fuel efficient engines for the locally built Camry and Camry Hybrid sedans from late 2012.
In preparation, Toyota Australia will renew the existing Altona engine plant and install energy efficient manufacturing equipment. Works will begin in August 2011 and are expected to be completed by late January 2012.
