COMMUNITY FOUNDATION

Our Story

Community is at the heart of all our work.

The Toyota Community Foundation exists to support our local communities, and our employees in their own communities.

Our roots were established in 2000, when we began exploring how to engage more meaningfully with the community. After consultation with key stakeholders, the Toyota Community Spirit program was established in 2001.

Our program focused on national and local strategic partnerships with community organisations. In particular, we focused on education and practical environmental action. We sought opportunities for our employees and dealer network to participate. We also worked with the three local councils where we operated: Hobsons Bay (VIC), Port Phillip (VIC) and Sutherland Shire (NSW). Our work focused on capacity building and helping local communities to help themselves.

In 2009, we looked at how we could improve our programs and encourage greater employee engagement. The Toyota Community Foundation (TCF), as it stands today, was formed in 2011.

We continue to evolve our programs to meet the needs of the community, as well as the interests of our company and employees. As our business has changed, we have invested in long term projects to give back to the communities that have been our home for so many years.
