Up against 48 tough competitors, the Camry Ascent Sport Hybrid impressed with its superior fuel efficiency, safety features and design.
What convinced the judges to award Hybrid Camry the title was how it held its own across the board in performance, design, safety and comfort. And that’s quite an achievement for an affordable sedan that prides itself on its petrol-electric hybrid technology and fuel-efficiency that saves a bundle at the pump.
The Camry comes with a raft of premium features, such as dual-zone climate control and advanced navigation. The cabin is spacious, comfortable and practical, and with intuitive fingertip control, the 7” Multi-information display helps brings the driving experience alive.
What took the Camry beyond the competition was its cutting-edge safety technology, which has earned Camry an exemplary, 5-star rating from ANCAP (as tested in 2017).
In addition, Camry’s hybrid powertrain provides seamless performance and was highly praised by the expert judging panel, for its responsiveness and efficiency.
With the help of its electric motor, and a battery that recharges while you drive, it’s easy to see why Camry’s fuel consumption is a mere 4.2L/100km
For a Camry owner, that amounts to a big win in fuel savings. Plus, significant savings at the pump make it a winner for the modern family.
Perhaps the biggest surprise to the experts however was Camry’s impressive drive experience. And it’s all thanks to our latest design initiative called the Toyota New Global Architecture that aims to bring a new level of polish across the Toyota range. It gives Camry a rigid and sophisticated platform to build a vehicle with new levels of handling and refinement and style.
For the Camry, this means a smoother drive - one that’s supple over the bumps, smooth and quiet on the highway, and supremely surefooted when it comes to taking on the bends.
The Camry just keeps getting better and better. Now with a far greater depth of character, it’s become the new benchmark and reimagined what a family car can be.
