That’s why improving safety has been among the highest priorities in developing the All-New HiAce and it’s fully expected to achieve an ANCAP five-star safety rating in 2019.
All models from the Long Wheelbase (LWB) Van through to the top-of-the-range Commuter GL bus come standard with a suite of Toyota Safety Sense
Add to that cruise control, blind spot monitor, rear-cross traffic alert, reversing camera, parking sensors, anti-lock brakes and vehicle stability control across the range, and up to nine airbags (available on the LWB Crew Van), the All-New HiAce will be one of the safest vans on the road.
Improved safety doesn’t just come in the form of advanced safety features either. The All-New HiAce is more powerful, more comfortable and much better to drive, which means extended wheel-time doesn’t feel like a chore.
Two new engines – a 2.8-litre turbo-diesel and a powerful 3.5-litre V6 petrol (automatic only, available on Crew and Commuter) deliver a superb balance of performance and fuel efficiency.
Behind the wheel, it’s easy to forget you’re even driving a tall van, with the new suspension and a longer wheelbase providing the sort of driving manners that are more likely to be found in a sophisticated station wagon or passenger car.

Picture a work van, and it may be unlikely that a comfortable ride and safety technology comes to mind. The All-New HiAce changes all that, with our new workhorse putting the driver front and centre.
