Belle's Olympic Journey

Belle Brockhoff became the first Australian woman to win a Snowboard Cross World Cup in the 2015/16 season in Spain. She followed that historic achievement with an even more successful season, however it was an injury setback that would create one of her biggest challenges on the road to Olympic glory.

During the 2016/17 season Belle won three World Cup medals including two gold and one silver. It was her best performing season to date, but it was also bittersweet. Towards the end of that season a crash on the racetrack left her with a ruptured ACL.

After a reconstruction and a period of intense rehab, Belle got back out on the snow and made her return to competition at the 2017 World Cup in France. Despite feeling fast and strong, on a day when there was poor visibility on the track, she crashed and ruptured her ACL once again. Although she was able to compete in the Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018, she knew that the injury had held her back.

Following her second knee reconstruction, an impressive comeback season included medals in five out of six Worlds Cups. Most recently, a World Championship gold medal in 2021 shows that Belle has finally reached a place where she can truly back herself in a race and trust herself as an athlete once again.

Belle's remarkable ability to adapt to various situations and overcome adversity is proof that she is as ready as ever for her third Paralympic Winter Games.

Belle's Kluger

Need for speed

“Aiming to be the fastest was the most exciting thing ever. I’ve stuck with it and haven’t looked back since.”

Where space meets safety

“After the first drive I knew it was the perfect car for me with so much room for all my gear. It drives so beautifully smooth that, even on the 8-hour drives through the snow-covered mountains, I always feel incredibly safe.”
