One million kilometres and still going strong
Brisbane cab driver, Muhammad Yasin has been a long-term fan of Toyota HiAce - and now more so than ever. The 2005 HiAce model that he bought brand new has just clocked up an incredible one million kilometers.
Dealing with the kind of driving that can destroy other vehicles, his automatic turbo-diesel has never missed a beat - and it's this reliability that has delighted Mr Yasin. Meticulous about servicing, he credits the use of Toyota Genuine Parts as the key to his HiAce's longevity. "I've tried non-genuine parts before and I know they're not as good. I don't think they last as long and they're not as reliable.”
He has his oil and oil filters changed every three weeks and the auto transmission fluid every three or four months - and every time with Genuine Toyota Parts.
"My friends in the business who also drive maxi-taxis drain the diff oil in their cabs at 150,000km and they are finding that if they don't use Toyota oil, the diff goes. I haven't changed the diff oil in this car at all and it's still going strong.”
For Quality, Durability and Reliability, Mr Yasin's hard-working HiAce certainly ticks all the boxes. And outside of work, he also drives another Toyota - a three year-old Yaris. After clocking up a million kilometers during business hours, it's good to know he still enjoys driving just for the fun of it.
