Environmental Best Practice Program award
Toyota Australia has won the 2004 United Nations Association of Australia (UNAA) Business Enterprise - Environmental Best Practice Program award. The award was announced at the 2004 UNAA World Environment Day Awards held in Melbourne on 4 June. Toyota won the award for its entry 'Toyota's Progress Towards a Sustainable Future'. This follows on from the UNAA award Toyota Australia won last year, for its Excellence in Water Management.
Toyota was recognised as a finalist in the Business Environmental Responsibility and Leadership category of the 2004 Banksia Environmental Awards held on World Environment Day (5 June) this year. This follows similar recognition as a finalist in last year's Banksia Environmental Awards.

World Environment Day, celebrated each year on June 5th, is promoted by the United Nations to stimulate worldwide awareness of the environment and enhance political attention and action.
The award has particular significance, as the theme for this year's World Environment Day is water.
