ACCA, the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, has promoted transparency in reporting the impact of business activities on Sustainable development for over a decade.
In support of the commendation, the judges offered the following comments about the report:
- Is overall a good quality report for an organisation's second attempt
- Is concisely summarised in hard copy, with a supporting information posted on the website
- Includes a verification statement which defines the scope, lists the findings and describes the challenges facing the company ahead
- Defines its scope and reasons why the report has been produced
- Outlines the main environmental impacts of Toyota Australia, including some indirect impacts
- Shows evidence of top-level commitment and involvement within the company regarding environmental issues
- Addresses and states the company's position on climate change
- Provides an overview, targets and performance information on product design, suppliers and manufacturers
The awards recognise innovative and transparent reporting of corporate Triple Bottom Line performance.
