The Toyota Cup is set to revolutionise the National Rugby League in 2008 when Toyota’s
new major sponsorship kicks off March 16, 2008.
Toyota’s sponsorship of the NRL will bring a whole new level to the game, with the
introduction of the Toyota Cup – a national Under-20s competition showcasing teams of
Australia’s finest junior talent competing for the Toyota Cup to be held at the end of the season.
Stretching beyond a standard corporate sponsorship, Toyota will also help develop
training courses to support players off the field and build skills for life after footy – a refreshing addition to the training program.
Training for the Toyota Cup will emphasise a balance between training, education and
career opportunities.
Helping young players to excel as elite sportsmen, Toyota’s support of the NRL also
provides an educational stepping stone fostering a new generation of multi-skilled players prepared for life outside the game.
The Toyota Cup will operate as a semi-professional competition, separate from the Telstra Premiership, and will include all 16 NRL clubs.
Toyota is the Official Car supplier of the NRL.
