What is an RSS feed?
A vast amount of information now exists on the Internet. RSS, or Really Simple Syndication, is an alternative way of accessing this information. With RSS you can “subscribe” to receive the content that interests you from a variety of sources or “feeds”, including www.toyota.com.au.
Once you are subscribed to an RSS feed, new stories and updates are automatically delivered to you the moment they are published. This saves you having to check the website periodically and locate the information yourself.
RSS feeds can be read in a program called an RSS news reader or aggregator. The main types of readers available include desktop applications that you download and install on your computer, and online readers that are available from any computer with an internet connection. You may also be able to find add-ins for your desktop email client (e.g. Microsoft Outlook) or your web browser.
