We are continuously striving to develop technology that improves car safety and helps to minimise damage and injury in auto accidents.
RAV4 features a range of our advanced passive and active safety technologies. From an ingenious Safe-T-Cell with impact absorbing crumple zones, to dual stage SRS airbags, advanced braking systems and Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), the vehicle is designed both to assist the driver in avoiding accidents and to help protect everyone on board if a collision should occur.
RAV4 features an ingenious Safe-T-Cell structure, which incorporates crumple zones front and rear and is designed to deflect the force of any impact away from everyone on board.
Vehicle Stability Control (VSC)
Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) acts to automatically dampen under-steer and over-steer during cornering and is standard throughout the RAV4 range.
Advanced Braking System
All grades of RAV4 are fitted as standard with our world class Advanced Braking with intelligence (AB-i) system incorporating Anti-skid Braking (ABS), Electric Brake-force Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist (BA).
Traction Control (TRC)
Traction Control is fitted as standard across the RAV4 range to help ensure safe, wheel-spin free acceleration and control in poor weather conditions and on slippery or uneven surfaces.
Dual Stage SRS airbags for driver and passenger are standard across the RAV4 range and a driver's knee airbag plus front side and front and rear curtain shield airbags are standard on all models except the CV where they are optional.
Child Restraint Anchorage Points
RAV4's Child Restraint Anchorage Points at the back help ensure that children can travel safely buckled up in baby capsules or child seats.
Front Fog Lamps
RAV4 Cruiser, Cruiser L, SX6 and ZR6 all come with front fog lamps which help to ensure that the driver can see (and be seen) in poor visibility.
