There's a choice of a two highly efficient power units - a 2.4 litre 4-cylinder VVT-i engine or a 3.5 litre dual VVT-i V6 engine.
Advanced technology ensures excellent traction and positive handling. While great towing capacity is handy if there's too much gear to just chuck in the back and go.
2.4 litre Engine
A 2.4 litre 4-cylinder engine with advanced features including VVT-i (Variable Valve Timing with intelligence) offers an excellent balance of performance and fuel efficiency.
V6 Engine
An advanced 3.5 litre 6-cylinder V6 engine with dual VVT-i (Variable Valve Timing with intelligence) is a highly efficient unit with over 200kW of power on tap.
Super ECT Auto
Super ECT (Super Electronically Controlled Transaxle) transmission delivers greater comfort, great performance and excellent fuel economy.
MacPherson Struts
RAV4's front suspension featuring MacPherson Struts, ensures excellent ride characteristics positive handling and responsive steering.
A choice of powerful engines enables RAV4 to generate plenty of torque giving the car excellent towing capacity. RAV4's unbraked towing capacity is 750Kg across the range. Braked towing capacity is 1500Kg in 4-cylinder models and 1900Kg in 6-cylinder models#.
All Wheel Drive/2 Wheel Drive
CV and Cruiser grades are available with 2WD. All other RAV4 models come with Active All Wheel Drive, which automatically switches from front-wheel drive to AWD as necessary.
AWD Lock
AWD models of RAV4 are equipped with an AWD Lock button on the dashboard to distribute torque to the rear wheels at speeds below 40km/h. At the push of a button you have the added grip of AWD and enhance escape performance from situations such as deep mud or snow.
