Exterior[V2]

Exterior[V2]

The dynamic design of RAV4 epitomises the car’s elite athletic personality and strength while emphasising just how much fun this car is to drive. Just by looking at RAV4’s stylish exterior, you can tell this machine will switch from business to leisure in a heartbeat. The front bumper’s two-piece construction accentuates an agile appearance while the wide set headlamps add to the car’s over-all sporty character.

Interior[V3]

Interior[V3]

The stylish and modern interior of RAV4 features a sporty cockpit-like driver area with high quality material finishes throughout. Premium quality details include leather-accented seats (Cruiser grades) which combine with clear, easy-to-see instruments to create a space which is both practical and functional, yet comfortable and stylish.

Daylight Running lamps[V2]

Daylight Running lamps[V2]

RAV4 is fitted with stylish LED Daylight Running Lamps as standard across the range to help ensure you are clearly visible to other motorists.

Fog Lamps[V2]

Fog Lamps[V2]

RAV4 GXL and Cruiser grades are fitted with front fog lamps. As well as being an effective safety aid, these stylish lamps are designed to enhance RAV4’s athletic good looks.

Headlights[V2]

Headlights[V2]

Cruiser grades come with High Intensity Discharge (HID) headlights, which produce a clear white light. This is closer to natural daylight than ordinary headlights, which helps make long highway trips at night less tiring for the eyes. This feature really comes into its own when you’re driving off the beaten track in the dark.

Moonroof[V2]

Moonroof[V2]

RAV4 Cruiser grades come with a tilt and slide moonroof. Even when it’s closed it makes for a more pleasurable driving experience as it lets in plenty of natural light, creating a feeling of space around you.

Then, on sunny days and warm Australian nights, you can open the moonroof to let in some fresh air.

RAV4’s moonroof is designed with enhanced wind deflectors which help to optimise airflow and keep the noise of wind throb to a minimum. So even on long motorway journeys, you can travel in style and comfort.

Diesel Engine[V5]

Diesel Engine[V5]

RAV4’s diesel engine generates a respectable amount of power (110KW at 3600 RPM) and heaps of torque (340 Nm between 2000 and 2800 RPM) so you have plenty of muscle for dealing with challenging terrain.

It also offers excellent fuel efficiency and environmental performance. Automatic models deliver 6.5 L/100km [G1]  (combined) while manual models deliver a very frugal 5.6 L/100km [G1]  (combined).

Petrol Engine[V4]

Petrol Engine[V4]

RAV4 offers a choice of two petrol engines - either 2.5L or 2.0L. Both are 4 cylinder engines with 16 valves, Double Overhead Camshaft and Dual Variable Valve Timing with Intelligence (Dual VVT-i).

All grades are available with a 2.5L petrol engine, while GX and GXL grades are also available with the 2.0L petrol engine.

60:40 Split Fold Rear Seats[V10]

60:40 Split Fold Rear Seats[V10]

The 60:40 split fold rear seats are designed for both convenience and comfort. The rear seats can be folded in numerous ways to create a surprisingly large amount of room for awkward shaped cargo. They have been shaped to offer maximum support while taking up as little space as possible.

This enhances the overall feeling of space and gives rear passengers plenty of leg-room. In addition, the cup holders in the rear seats are arranged side by side so there is also plenty of elbow room and armrest space for rear passengers.

Power Rear Door

Power Rear Door

Cruiser grades come with a power back door. The power back door isn’t just convenient. It’s also very clever. It has a built-in memory function, which allows you to set a preferred opening height. This is very handy if you have a low ceiling in your garage or if you ever need to load or unload in a confined space. (Cruiser model shown)

Storage compartments[V10]

Storage compartments[V10]

RAV4 has plenty of storage compartments and spaces for all the things you need to take with you when you head out on the road. Large door pockets with bottle holders, cup holders in the central console, a large glove box, a storage tray over the glove box and at the front of the central console and a storage box at the back of the central console, mean you’re never stuck for somewhere to put things.

Safety

Equipped with extensive safety features and technologies.

RAV4’s advanced safety features and Driver Assist technologies help reduce the chances of an accident and help keep you safe should one occur.

Active Braking with intelligence (AB-i)[V6]

Active Braking with intelligence (AB-i)[V6]

All grades of RAV4 come with our class leading braking technology – Active Braking with intelligence (AB-i). This advanced braking system incorporates Anti-skid Braking (ABS), Brake Assist (BA) and Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD). These technologies work together to help ensure that RAV4 can stop safely and quickly in an emergency. ABS continually monitors the car’s wheels and if it detects the beginning of a lock up, it automatically adjusts brake force to free it, which helps the driver to keep control of steering in sudden braking situations. EBD works in harmony with ABS and helps to minimise stopping distances by distributing braking power to the wheels with the most grip. It also adjusts brake balance front to rear, depending on load. In emergency braking, BA interprets a quick push of the brake pedal as an emergency stop and automatically provides additional brake force to help stop the vehicle in the shortest distance possible.

Rear Parking Sensors

Rear Parking Sensors

RAV4 comes with a four-head rear parking sensor system [B4]  to help you negotiate tight spaces when reversing and to avoid hard-to-see objects.

Using four ultrasonic wave sensor heads positioned along the rear bumper, the rear parking sensor system [B4]  can notify you of both the distance and the direction of any obstacles and hazards behind you such as rocks, low walls and fence posts.

Blind Spot Monitor[V2] with Reverse Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA)

Blind Spot Monitor[V2]

Cruiser grades are fitted with a Blind Spot Monitor [B4]  system. Out on the road, the system uses radar sensors to monitor your blind spots and detect other vehicles you may not be able to see in your mirrors.

When the Blind Spot Monitor [B4]  system detects a vehicle concealed in your blind spot, a warning light automatically appears in your side mirror. If you flick the indicator switch to turn in that direction, the warning light will flash to alert you.

Cruiser grades also come with Reverse Cross Traffic Alert. When reversing, backing out of a parking space for instance, the radar sensors monitor the space to either side at the rear. If an approaching vehicle is detected, the Reverse Cross Traffic Alert function will warn you by flashing the Blind Spot Monitor [B4]  indicator in the side mirror and sounding a warning beep.

Reversing Camera[V2]

Reversing Camera[V2]

All RAV4 models are fitted with a Reversing Camera [B4]  as standard. This is a wide angle camera which shows clear, real-time images of what’s behind you when you're reversing, on the 6.1" LCD audio touch-screen display The Reversing Camera [B4]  automatically switches on when you select reverse.

In Cruiser grades, the Reversing Camera[B4] is augmented by a Back Guide Monitor [B4]  which overlays dynamic guidelines onto the image. As you turn the steering wheel, the guidelines move to predict the path you are taking.

While you should always use your own eyes to make sure it’s safe when reversing, the Reversing Camera [B4]  is a great safety aid, especially when combined with RAV4’s rear parking sensor system.

[B4]  Reversing Camera, Parking Sensors and Blind Spot Monitor (where fitted) are designed as driver assist devices only and should not be used as a substitute for skilled driving and/or safe parking practices. The area into which the vehicle is to be driven must be visually monitored by the driver.

Technology

The latest advanced technologies for a truly sophisticated driving experience.

RAV4 is equipped with a wealth of clever technologies and innovations all designed to put you in control and deliver a great driving experience.

ENGINE START STOP
Steering Wheel Controls[V2]

Steering Wheel Controls[V2]

All RAV4 GX grades feature steering wheel controls with a 4-way audio switch, giving you fingertip control of the audio system, hands free mobile calls and the Multi Information Display. Mounted below the steering wheel on the right is the Cruise Control switch.

The steering wheel controls allow you to select a radio station or audio device, change tracks, pump the volume up or down, make a hands free mobile call, cycle through the useful information on the Multi Information Display or set Cruise Control, all without ever taking your hands off the wheel.

Sat Nav[V2]

Sat Nav[V2]

RAV4 Cruiser grades are equipped with a sophisticated Satellite Navigation [N1]  system, integrated into the audio unit with spoken instructions conveyed through the 11-speaker system and visual guides and 3D graphics shown on the 6.1" LCD touchscreen display. The system also comes with SUNATM[G7] Live Traffic Monitoring Service to help you find your way and stay clear of traffic hold ups.

Smart Entry and Smart Start

Smart Entry and Smart Start

The Smart Entry and Smart Start system adds convenience to the RAV4 (available on GXL and Cruiser models only). The system picks up radio transmissions from your key fob when it’s close to the car and prepares to unlock. All you then have to do is grip the door handle or the tailgate latch and the car will automatically unlock itself. As long as you have the key fob with you in the car, all that’s needed to do to start the engine is a touch on the brakes then a push on the start button and you’re up and running.

Multi Information Display[V7]

Multi Information Display[V7]

RAV4’s Multi-Information Display (MID) makes it easy to keep an eye on important information while staying focused on the road.

The MID displays average fuel consumption levels, outside temperature, possible cruising range and more, to make keeping track of your vehicle’s performance simple.

DAC[V8]

DAC[V8]

Downhill Assist Control (DAC) [G4]  is standard on all RAV4 AWD automatic models. It’s an intelligent system, which automatically applies the appropriate hydraulic brake pressure during steep off-road descents in order to maintain a constant low speed so you can concentrate on steering. This helps prevent RAV4 from slipping sideways, helping to keep it stable and steady, improving off-road safety and enabling you to tackle really challenging terrain with confidence.

HAC[V9]

HAC[V9]

Hill-start Assist Control (HAC) is a standard feature on all RAV4 models. From a standing start on a steep incline, taking your foot off the brake to step on the throttle could result in the car starting to roll backwards. Hill-start Assist Control (HAC) prevents this from happening by automatically applying the brake for up to two seconds holding RAV4 in place, giving you time to get back on the throttle and pull away.
