SRS Airbags: Advanced safety technology
We incorporate a wide range of 'active' safety technology in our cars, designed to help prevent accidents from happening in the first place.
But as they are sometimes unavoidable, we have also created an all-encompassing 'passive safety' system to help protect passengers should an accident occur.
7 SRS Airbags
Every model has seven SRS airbags to help shield driver and passengers from impact.
Front passengers are protected from impact by front and side SRS airbags, plus a knee airbag for the driver.
Curtain shield side airbags cover each row of seats, helping protect everyone in the vehicle from significant side impact.
Safe seatbelts
The front seatbelts have pre tensioners with force limiters, which take up any slack and minimise movement in an accident. All the back seats are fitted with Emergency Locking Retractor 3-point seatbelts to help keep everyone securely in place.
Safe-T-Cell
Driver and passengers are protected within the Prado's 'Safe-T-Cell' structure. Not only is the cell incredibly strong, but it also helps absorb and cushion impact from all directions.
