Prado's Active Braking with intelligence (AB-i): system is an advanced package of features that includes Anti-skid Braking System (ABS), Brake Assist (BA) and Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD).
Anti-skid Braking System (ABS)
Anti-skid Braking prevents the wheels from locking up when you brake heavily ensuring you stay in control and maintain traction.
Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD)
If you need to swerve as you're braking, EBD varies the amount of brake force applied to each wheel, applying the most pressure where it can have most effect. This helps ensure you stay in control in an emergency.
Brake Assist (BA)
If the brake pedal is pushed down fast, the Prado senses this as an emergency brake and Brake Assist kicks in to increase the amount of brake force going to each wheel stopping you as quickly and safely as possible.
Of course, Prado's Active Braking with intelligence system works seamlessly alongside technologies like Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) and Downhill Assist (DAC).
