Toyota Prado Features Car Performance Torque

Big torque and shed loads of horsepower

Pulling power

Torque is what pushes you up rocky inclines and gets you out of holes. It's also what gives you the pulling power you need to carry or tow heavier loads.

And the Prado is very big on torque.

With a 3,000kg braked towing capacity** on the Prado SX and ZR models, and 2,500kg on the 5 door models you've all the grunt you need to tow just about anything anywhere.

Pure V6 power

Thanks to the Prado's gutsy V6 petrol engine, you'll enjoy 381Nm of torque, enabling you to pull a caravan or trailer, or to carry just about all of the equipment you could ever need.

In spite of all this torque and power, the Prado's petrol engine is also incredibly quiet and fuel efficient.

Even more torque in the diesel

The 3.0 litre turbo diesel generates even more torque - an impressive 410Nm of mind boggling grunt, enabling you to take on 4WD situations that other off roaders would faint at.

And despite turning out 127kW of sheer direct-injected power, the diesel engine is also fuel efficient, enabling you to travel approximately 1700km per tank-full for the five door with a manual transmission (only available on GX and GXL) and slightly further with an automatic#.
