The Toyota Paralympic Talent Search Program

The Toyota Paralympic Talent Search Program is a national program which works to identify sporting talent amongst people with physical disabilities.

It's rolled out through a series of Toyota Paralympic Talent Search Days of which at least one is held in every State across Australia throughout the year. Anyone with a physical disability is eligible to take part and those who are particularly promising are selected for further training and mentoring with a view to considering them for the Australian team at future Paralympic Games.

More than 1000 people have participated in the Toyota Paralympic Talent Search Program since it was launched in March 2005, and its success has been underlined by those 27 athletes who earned selection for the Australian team at the 2008 Beijing Paralympic Games.

Athletes identified through the Program include sprinter Kelly Cartwright, cyclist Jayme Paris and wheelchair basketball champion Tige Simmons.
