Anti-skid Braking System (ABS)
Imagine you're driving home in heavy traffic; the roads are slippery from rain when the brake lights of the car immediately in front of you abruptly blaze red. You hit the brakes hard to avoid hitting it but instead of stopping, your car is sliding out of control.
It's a scary thought but locking up any or all of your wheels can cause your car to skid and locking the front wheels means you cannot steer the car. Most often it's the act of applying hard braking pressure during an emergency which causes this to happen.
Staying in control
With Kluger, all models come equipped with Toyota's Anti-skid Braking System (ABS) which helps reduce wheel lock-up during hard braking.
ABS pulsates the brakes and helps prevent your wheels from locking up when you hit the brakes hard during an emergency stop.
Automatic braking
The Anti-Skid Braking System constantly monitors the wheels, and if it detects that the wheels are beginning to lock, it instantly pulses the braking pressure to each wheel independently.
By performing this pulsing action repeatedly within milliseconds, ABS improves steering control and helps the brakes achieve their optimum braking performance until the vehicle comes to a stop.
This means the wheels never stop rotating and this helps Kluger to avoid going into a skid, helping you stay in control.
