Chances are you will never see all of Kluger's safety features in action, but it's always good to know they are there when you need them. The Kluger comes equipped with a comprehensive set of advanced active and passive car safety systems. Brake Assist helps you apply optimum braking force and Vehicle Stability Control automatically activate in dangerous driving situations to help keep you and your family safe. On wet, icy or even sandy road surfaces Traction Control improves your tyres' grip on the road. To improve safety from inside the cabin the Kluger has seven SRS airbags to offer protection to you and your family inside the vehicle.
Vehicle Stability Control (VSC)
VSC is a fast acting computer-based car safety system that automatically activates in emergency driving situations. It's designed to control a front or rear-end skid when cornering. So if you ever have a rear-end skid (oversteer) in a tricky corner or your car starts to plough straight ahead instead of taking the turn (understeer), VSC automatically intervenes. It detects that you're not on your intended path and takes corrective measures.
Brake Assist (BA)
Emergency situations come out of nowhere and with Brake Assist, it's easier to stop your Kluger in a hurry to help avoid nasty accidents. It interprets a sudden, quick push of your brake pedal as emergency braking and increases your braking pressure to reduce the braking distance so you stop sooner.
Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD)
Car safety in your Kluger is further enhanced with EBD. This electronic system improves Kluger's braking effectiveness across all wheels when you have to stop abruptly. It is especially helpful when you're coming home with extra passengers or cargo. Its sensors recognise the extra load on the rear axle, so brake pressure on the rear wheels is increased which improves braking effectiveness.
Anti-skid Braking System (ABS)
All Kluger models come equipped with Toyota's advanced Anti-skid Braking System which helps reduce wheel lock-up during hard braking enabling the driver to steer around obstacles more easily under heavy braking. ABS automatically controls the brakes and helps prevent your wheels from locking up when you hit the brakes hard during an emergency stop.
Traction Control (TRC)
On wet, icy or even sandy road surfaces, the degree of traction between your tyres and the road is dramatically reduced. What ABS does for braking, Kluger's Traction Control system does for acceleration - improves your tyres' grip on the road in poor driving conditions, especially when you're moving off from a standing start.
SRS airbags
Accidents can happen and passive car safety inside the cabin is just as important as preventing an accident in the first place. As part of its considerable set of safety features all Klugers are equipped with seven SRS airbags to help protect everyone inside.
World class passive safety

Safety enhancements include an advanced Whiplash Injury Lessening (WIL) system with three-point Emergency Locking Retractor (ELR) and clever seatbelt pre-tensioners and force limiters for the driver and front passenger that provide added protection in frontal accidents.
