Because we know that Australia has some of the toughest working conditions on the planet, the HiLux 4.0-litre V6 engine has been tried and tested in Australian conditions to make sure it delivers what you need, whatever the job throws at you. The 4.0-litre V6 engine has VVT-i (Variable Valve Timing with intelligence) technology for improved efficiency and performance. The engine is lightweight, compact and quiet while still powerful. It delivers high performance, 175kW/ 376Nm torque (auto)/ 343Nm torque (manual) and has excellent fuel efficiency.

The V6 engine comes with a choice of 5-speed manual gearbox, or a 5-speed automatic transmission with gated shift (model dependent). And even with the vehicle loaded up for work or towing heavy equipment, the HiLux 4.0-litre V6 engine delivers excellent acceleration from the get go and is smoothly responsive when you accelerate to pass another vehicle in the mid to high-speed ranges.
