For such a showy little car the Copen's remarkably sensible. The instrumentation is clustered together so that you can take in critical information in just once glance. An Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) helps you to maintain steering control under emergency braking. And the seatbelts include pre-tensioners and force limiters to help absorb the energy of an impact, while the side doors incorporate side impact beams. Naturally SRS airbags are standard for both driver and passenger as are dual roll bars.

As you'd expect of a car that sports a turbocharged engine and five-speed manual transmission, Copen is capable of having the bitumen disappearing beneath you at a brisk rate. Mind you, the fuel gauge will be moving like a snail (and a rather slow snail at that). Copen consumes a mere 6.4 litres of petrol for every 100kms** travelled, which means the money you save on your fuel bills can be spent on something more appropriate for a Copen driver - sunglasses.
