Toyota Country Ambassadors
Toyota considers itself both privileged and lucky to count amongst its stable of ambassadors some of Australia's true country music greats, alongside prodigious new talent.
Taking out the Star Maker title in 1982, his win helped to set Lee on course to become not only one of Australia's most-loved country music artists, but a worthy Australian of the Year winner in 2008. Now, with a 30 year career to his name, to many people Lee represents the true spirit of the bush, and through his long term association with Toyota, he has been able to make a difference to the lives of many right across the country. Having sold almost two million albums, Lee has also won 29 Golden Guitar Awards, 3 ARIA Awards and notched up 30 number one hits - a phenomenal list of achievements in anyone's books ...and he's not done yet! www.leekernaghan.com
Born and bred in Grafton, NSW, The McClymonts came to the attention of the country music world following Samantha McClymont's win of the Toyota Star Maker title in 2005. Teaming up with her talented sisters Brooke and Mollie, the trio have since enjoyed great success and become darlings of the industry. In 2010, their second album Wrapped Up Good entered the ARIA chart at Number 2 and achieved Gold sales, while their debut album Chaos and Bright Lights followed suit.
Winners of an ARIA Award in 2010 for Best Country Album, The McClymonts also have five Golden Guitars to their name.
Relocation to Nashville in June 2011 to take on the US market has paid off for the girls, with months of extensive touring being capped off by collecting the award for Global Country Artist of The Year at the 2011 American Country Music Association Awards. As proud Toyota ambassadors, The McClymonts are no doubt bound for even bigger and better things - watch this space. www.themcclymonts.net.au
