Automatic High Beam[B6]
Camry features world–class technologies that instinctively interact with driver and road for safer more intuitive driving experience.
Camry Atara SL and Camry HL feature Automatic High Beam[B6] technology, which automatically detects the lights of other vehicles at night. When the high beam system is activated, Automatic High Beam[B6] technology will switch itself on at speeds over 30km/hr (and switches off again when speed drops below 25 km/hr).
A camera sensor and microprocessor continuously monitor ahead for car headlamps and tail lights and if it detects an oncoming vehicle closing from less than 800 metres, or the taillights of a car, less than 600 metres in front, the Automatic High Beam[B6] system automatically switches to low beam.
As soon as there are no more lights from oncoming traffic (or tail lights ahead), Automatic High Beam[B6] switches automatically back to high beam again.
As well as being one less thing to worry about on the road at night, Automatic High Beam[B6] technology is another example of Camry's leading edge technology.
