Improved Aerodynamics
The aerodynamic profile of Camry has been modified by a mixture of body re-design and the introduction of advanced airflow technology, inspired by Formula 1 racing.
The body of the car has been re-shaped to make it sleeker with unique headlamps, and fog lamps (in Atara models) integrated into the lower air dams and integrated into the lower front bumper (in HL models), the A-pillar re-aligned to create a flush surface and reduce the step from the windscreen and outside mirrors. All of Camry's aerodynamic modifications along with acoustic windscreen in Camry H and Camry HL have contributed in making Camry quieter.
Vortex Generating Aero Fins
Under body covers have been designed to work with the airflow beneath Camry, to improve straight-line driving and vehicle stability. Two aero fins are also mounted under the rear under body cover and these, combined with aero stabilising fins on the exterior mirror mounts and tail lamps, create a powerful vortex generation effect along the length of the car.
This vortex creates down-force, which works with Camry's sleek aerodynamic body shape, to help the car hug the road. The result is enhanced steering response, better grip, more stability and an improved roll feel. An all-round engaging and responsive drive.
