Less impact for the environmentally friendly
Less environmental impact
There's no other Australian-built or medium-sized car that has better environmental performance than Hybrid Camry. With Toyota's world-leading Hybrid Synergy Drive® at its core this car uses just 6.0 litres of fuel per 100km#.
While Hybrid Camry has less impact around town - especially in stop-start traffic - it's also really fuel efficient on the open road. This car uses up to 60 per cent less fuel than comparable cars in the class.
Less fuel means fewer emissions which will make us all breathe easier. Hybrid Camry's 2.4 litre engine produces a mere 142g per kilometre of carbon dioxide# which is far less than any equivalent-sized petrol-based engine and less harmful emissions than any other car in its class.
In the case of diesel, Hybrid Camry also produces much less smog-forming nitrogen oxide (NOx) than those in its class. This is an important distinction because NOx is a smog-forming particulate emission which is harmful to human health.
Only family car to achieve 5 star-rating
Hybrid Camry is the only medium-sized and the first Australian built car to be awarded 5 stars by the Australian Government's Green Vehicle Guide. This makes Hybrid Camry unique amongst family sedans.
Thanks its purpose-designed dashboard getting better fuel efficiency and reducing your emissions in your Hybrid Camry comes naturally. The dashboard display gives you a visual sense of your driving performance and monitors your fuel efficiency instantaneously throughout your drive.
In fact, at 142g/km, Hybrid Camry's emissions are close to what you would expect from a small car with a tiny 1.3L engine - not a family-sized sedan with a powerful 2.4L engine. Other petrol-based cars in Hybrid Camry's class produce upwards of 55% more CO2 every kilometre.
Plus Hybrid Camry comes with space and versatility-there's plenty of room for the kids in the back and the rear boot has ample storage for the weekend getaway. You can also rest easier knowing that you're producing fewer emissions by driving a car with the best environmental performance in its class.
