Opportunities are available for students entering Year 11 to undertake a school based part-time traineeship with participating Toyota Dealerships as part of their Year 12 Certificate.

This opportunity is part of a program known as T3, which is an innovative industry training partnership entered into by TAFE and Toyota Motor Corporation Australia. T3 symbolises the strategic linking of Toyota Motor Corporation Australia, TAFE and the network of Toyota dealerships.

The T3 Program gives students a head start on a great automotive career while they are still at school. The Program can provide students with a Year 12 Certificate and a nationally recognised TAFE qualification at Certificate II level in either:

• Automotive Vehicle Servicing
• Automotive Sales – Replacement Parts & Accessories
• Business Administration

Through the T3 Program, Toyota Dealerships and TAFE will provide a range of training and development opportunities to Year 11 & 12 students in the traineeship program.

Current Year 10 students, considering continuing on to Year 11, from both government and non-government schools are eligible to apply for the T3 Program, to commence at the beginning of Year 11.

Students spend the equivalent of three and a half days a week on their Year 12 Certificate subjects, one day a week in paid employment with their Toyota Dealer and a half day a week at a TAFE college studying their automotive program over the two years of their school based part-time traineeship.

The successful completion of both the Year 12 Certificate and the Certificate II TAFE qualification may possibly lead to full-time employment with a Toyota dealership along with credit for having completed the first year of an automotive apprenticeship.
