Sales

New car, used car, and fleet sales make up the Sales department within a Toyota dealership. This environment is fast-paced, challenging and exciting.

The New Vehicle department provides customer service in the new vehicle range, whilst the Fleet department maximises opportunities in local businesses for their fleet activity. The Used Car department works with trade-ins as well as formerly leased vehicles.

General Sales Manager

A General Sales Manager ensures that the dealership meets its sales goals. The main focus of this role is to lead and motivate sales employees to effectively operate the department, whilst ensuring that the department’s business targets are achieved.

Sales Managers

Sales Managers can either manage the New Vehicle, Used Vehicle or Fleet area of a Sales department within a dealership. Sales Managers lead and motivate a team of Sales Consultants to achieve predetermined sales targets, while ensuring complete customer satisfaction is delivered.


Required:

  • Experience in a sales role in the retail Automotive industry
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Well developed leadership and people skills
  • Ability to build effective relationships with customers resulting in sales
  • Establish and maintain practices designed to train, develop and motivate department
  • Plan vehicle merchandising, advertising, publicity campaigns and other promotional activities in line with company issued targets

Sales Consultant

Sales Consultants can work in either Fleet, New or Used Car sales.

Assisting customers with the purchase of their new vehicle is a Sales consultant’s main aim. They explain and demonstrate vehicle features to customers. Sales people are highly motivated and ambitious individuals. Sales consultants are required to meet set sales targets.


Required:

  • Some sales experience (not necessarily in the Automotive industry)
  • Excellent communication skills and negotiation skills

After Market Sales Consultant

An After Market Sales Consultant sells aftermarket products such as window tinting, rust proofing and paint protection to customers who are purchasing a vehicle. Aftermarket Sales Consultants have set quota/revenue targets to achieve, and must ensure complete customer satisfaction.

Stock Controller

A Stock Controller organises the movement of vehicle stock throughout a dealership. This role involves liaising with all areas of the sales department to ensure the efficient movement of vehicles, processing vehicle transactions, and sourcing/invoicing vehicles.

Finance and Insurance Consultant

The main focus of a Finance and Insurance Consultant is to sell finance and insurance products to dealership customers.


Required:

  • Accreditation and demonstrated understanding of the legislative requirements of the financial services industry
  • Ability to build long term customer relationships
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Obtain approval from the Finance Company on all finance deals
  • Collect and receipt all monies from the sale of vehicles as well as amounts from finance companies
  • Assist New and Used Vehicle Sales departments in sales negotiations where necessary

The Customer Relations Manager drives customer satisfaction across all areas of a dealership. This role involves providing leadership and motivation on customer relations to all staff, gathering information to identify key areas that influence customer satisfaction, making recommendations to management accordingly and facilitating conflict resolution between customers and internal departments.
