The Toyota Community Spirit Gallery is located in Toyota Australia's corporate headquarters in Port Melbourne.
The gallery aims to provide space for artists, especially emerging artists to show their work. The gallery opened in July 2004 and runs a continuous program of exhibitions. The program is focused on local artists but also includes works by regional and interstate artists. Currently the works of more than 550 artists have been exhibitied. The CRI is a self-assessment tool. Participants select responses from the survey which they consider best describe their corporate social responsibility approach and performance.
The CRI is made up of four components that require participants to show how their corporate responsibility practices are addressed through the different levels of their business. The four components are: corporate strategy; integration; management; performance and impact. Company responses are then audited and verified by an independent auditor.
Toyota Australia participated in the CRI from 2003 – 2006 and achieved a result of over 95%. Toyota Australia is now part of the CRI Leaders Group.
